It took me years to understand that line.

For a long time, I believed good ideas were enough. That if you work hard, keep learning and create value, people will eventually notice.

It took me a while to accept that. I was technically good. I had ideas. But something was blocking me, and honestly, it frustrated me.

I started writing. Every day, I searched for the right words. I structured my ideas. I learned how to tell a story.

And then AI came along. Right on time.

It didn't replace me. It made me improve 10x faster. But above all, it taught me. By working with it day after day, I figured out how to structure an idea. How to organize a message so it lands the first time.

How to grab attention and hold on to it.

Every email, every post, every message to my team: I went from "he doesn't get what I mean" to "that's exactly it."

More clients. Better conversations. Opportunities opening up. A team that moves forward because it understands exactly what we're building together.

People who listen to me.

Not because I got smarter. Because I learned how to get my message across.

Want a concrete example?

Here's a technique I use all the time. When I need to write an important message (an email to a client, an announcement to the team, a post, a report…) I never ask AI to write the whole thing for me.

I start by writing my own version. Even if it's imperfect. Even if it's a rough draft. Because it's my idea, my voice.

Then I use this prompt in ChatGPT or Claude:

"Here is a [type of message] I wrote for [audience]. My goal is [what I want them to do/understand]. The tone should be [professional/direct/warm].

Here is my current version: [Your text here]

What works well? What could be clearer or punchier? Suggest an improved version."

Simple. But powerful.

AI doesn't replace you. It holds up a mirror. It shows you what's missing, what could be clearer, more direct. And you learn something every time.

Try it today. You'll see the difference. But if (and only if) you want to go further and faster…

Now, I'm going to be honest.

This prompt is a good start. But for every specific situation (following up with a client who's gone quiet, announcing a tough change to your team, writing a post that generates leads, writing documentation…) there are far more precise prompts you can give the AI.

Prompts that I spend hours developing, testing and refining for my own company.
