GenevIA becomes "The Ergon Brief"

Nothing changes except the name

Big announcement today: GenevIA is becoming The Ergon Brief.

First, the most important part: nothing changes for you.

Same time every week, same format, still free, still written from Geneva. Only the name on the envelope changes.

But let me tell you why, because it matters.

A little over a year ago, I launched GenevIA with a simple idea: artificial intelligence explained to professionals, from Geneva.

Since then, the project has grown far beyond anything I imagined: more than 20,000 of you now read it, across French-speaking Switzerland and beyond. And by writing for you week after week, one conviction has come to matter more than all the others:

AI isn't magic.

The whole game is knowing where it's strong, and where it isn't.

Where to use it in your work, and where it would damage the very thing that makes you valuable.

The Greeks had a word for that: Ergon.

What you do that no one else can do for you.

Your judgment, your signature, what's left once you strip away everything that can be automated. That idea has become the heart of what I write every week, and it was time for it to give the project its name.

This new name also lets me do something many of you have asked for: an English version, for your colleagues and peers in German-speaking Switzerland and elsewhere who don't read French. It's coming soon.

But that's not all. This name also lets me say clearly what I stand for.

In a world where everyone is talking about AI (and where some use it as an excuse to belittle what humans are worth), I'm making the opposite bet: the more I learn to use these tools, the more one thing becomes obvious.

Technology replaces the craftsman; it doesn't replace the artist.

Many of you told me this idea resonated with you. It will stay true for a long time, and it's the idea I'm building this project around.

So that everything is clear, here's the whole Ergon family:

The Ergon Brief (formerly GenevIA, what you're reading right now): free, every week. It helps you understand what AI changes in your profession or your business (and sometimes in your life), and which tools to use (and how).

The Ergon Report: the premium subscription, every Sunday. Written for people who run their own business and have to decide on their own what AI changes about their offer, their pricing and their team.

Thank you for being here, whether since day one or since last week. This project exists because you read it.

Talk soon, Salim
